Our Story
A Rivalry That Became a Brotherhood
For generations, the cricket encounter between Sivali College and St. Aloysius College has been one of the proudest traditions of Rathnapura, the historic city of Minipura. Students, parents, teachers and old boys fill the grounds each year to witness two proud schools battle for glory.
The rivalry has produced memorable centuries, match-winning spells and moments that are still talked about decades later. Yet beyond the scorecards, the encounter has always been about respect, friendship and the true spirit of cricket.
Recognising the bond that the game had created, the past cricketers of both schools came together to form the Sivali Aloysius Old Cricket Association, an officially registered sports association dedicated to preserving this heritage and supporting the cricketers of tomorrow.
